Thought I was totally done with the animated line. But some times it's hard to let go of something, especially with cheap prices.
Yeah, shame on me.
This is the activator version which is the same size as scout class. The activator means by triggering a swtich can make certain
amount of transformation for you to minimize the process. But due to the spring activate transformation, a lot of details have to
be sacrificed unlike other scout class which still have plenty of details and accuracies.
Megatron's alternate mode is a two rotor assult helicopter. This mode actually looks great in the cartoon and in the leader class
but really lame in the activators, or I should say terrible. It just doesn't look like a helicopter at all besides those blades. The
legs are hanging there and the arms are bending there and the cockpit cannot latch tightly. Good thing those blades rotate freely.
Opposite to the alternate mode, Megatron has a very decent robot mode. Same like Grimlock, he looks back heavy but is actually
in a very good balance. He is quite posable and the head can rotate freely. The only problem is his shoulders are mounted with
a spring. So even though the arms can move to many directions but will spring back to the original position. This makes open
arm steady posing difficult or nearly impossible. His fist has a hole that makes tooth stick a perfect size for him to hold like a
saber. Now I have to rush to get a Prime so he can has a tooth stick fight with Prime.
Transformation: 2 - Activator means there is no transformation.
Fun: 6 - Helicopter mode is really terrible but robot mode is really, really nice.
Display: 6 - He is terrific in robot mode. I will totally ignore displaying in helicopter mode.
Price: 9 - $8.49 from Walmart? Nah. $9.49 at Target? Are you crazy!? $5 sale at Walmart? Good!
Overall: 6 - Two animated line figures I owned before, one is leader class and one is deluxe class, I don't like them both and
eventually sold them. But I think the animated line is good in this scout class size.
