Arcee

Bought it, sold it, bought it, sold. This is a typical life of my Transformer Animated line figures. I just cannot find one that I really like to keep, even at the end of the line when Arcee and Ratchet came up. Ratchet is easily passable, but Arcee looks more tempting. So I decided to give this line a final try. Surprisingly she is really hard to find due to TRU's over stock with other junks. But When I finally found her, yes, I finally found one I like in this line.

Arcee's alternate mode is a very stylish sports car. Looks nice and rolls well. The wings are removable, which is good and bad both. The car is not very sturdy. The first half of the car is easily moveable causing tires unbalance. She cannot hold much presure from the top also which means she is not a good car toy for very young kids. The two swords can be stored on the back like booster which is a nice thing but the join line on the hood is pittyfully noticeable. The transparent blue glasses can be lifted up but not showing anything. It's just the first step of the transformation.

Transformation is easy and well designed. The funny part is her head is not hiding anywhere but just using both hands to cover it, that give me the feeling of PEEKABOO! Even though she looks like having a heavy backpack, it is not causing any balance issue. The backpack does not effect too much of her arms movement also. She is quite poseable and well balanced. Since the entire back of her head is the light pipe, her eyes can reflect the light pretty well but somehow the backpack blocks a little. She is a little bit taller than classics Hot Rod but lighter than him and she is a bit shorter than movie herself if not counting the wings. The two swords can now be hold in hands but have to be careful on this. With certain angle the swords can slip into her hands easily, pressing too much force will actaully create a stress mark on the thumb which mine got already.

A side note, seems like she has been redesigned from the initial but Hasbro didn't update the picture on the box and instruction. Majority is on the backpack and the wings. They look different and the position is different also.

Transformation: 6 - Pretty easy but most part is hiding pretty well except the PEEKABOO part.
Fun: 9 - Car mode is fun to roll but not sturdy enough but robot mode is pretty good. She is very poseable and well balanced. Plus, she has two swords. Well, if the G1 gun isn't bad also.
Display: 8 - Her robot mode looks good messing with classics lines. Car mode is okay.
Value: 8 - She worths $11.99 for a TRU exclusive. Only part dissapoints me is she got some paints chip when I opened her.
Overall: 8 - She is the second Arcee figure I own and I like them both, and she is the first animated figures I owned and like it so much without "Oh, crap! I have to put it on eBay again" thing. Her thumb stress mark is a concern.
