RPM Optimus Prime

Here, is the real truck look of the movie Optimus Prime.

I think it is a really good idea to release RPM line for Transformers especially for some casual car fans who don't care much about
the robot but the cars or for kids to play with, just like Hot Wheels. Disney Pixar's Cars is a really successful story here. One day,
took my son to Target and, as usually, looked around the car toys aisle and TF aisle, then found out he was holding this Optimus
Prime RPM tight. Okay son, you have pretty good eyes. There you go. I bought it.

After taking it out from the package, I was a little bit surprised it was all made by - plastic. My son took it right away and didn't
let me touch it. He was holding it all the time, even when I put him to sleep he was still holding it. I never got a chance to look at
it closely. He really LOVES it. Finally he fall in sleep, now I can sneak into his hands to take this out and look at it.

This truck is really well made and detailed as you can see from the picture below. Still missing some paint jobs (especially the
Autobo symbol on the grill) but good enough I think. But why plastic? I mean, really, why plastic? Even the much cheaper Matchbox
and Hot Wheel cars are using metal parts (or body), and the $2.99 each Disney Cars are excellent on details and paint jobs with
metal body. This guy, with all plastic body and gray (not silver) smokestacks and gas tanks, costs $3.99. $3.99 can almost buy a
set of Matchbox. True, paint on metal is easy to make scratches after children play, but it loses all the shiny effect and collective
value also. I've compared it with my son's Lightning McQueen, it is lighter, a little bit smaller, and looks cheaper.

Turn the truck up side down and you can see the robot mode of Optimus Prime. In my opinion, this just looks lame and unnecessary.

Overall: 3 - This is a good car to play with, but with the value of $3.99, it can be much, much better. Good try Hasbro, but you can
be better. And I think I am done with this RPM line.
