I have very little interest about beast type Transformers (Ravage and Dinobots don’t count) so even owned a few previously but there were pretty much all sold. Knowing this could be unfair to my son so what he has are Beast Machines Megatron and mini-con Brimstone and they are all dragons (again, Dinobots don’t count). There when we went to Once Upon A Child again, our goal was trying to find some Transformers. This time, luckily we found one and it is the white Leo Prime, a lion.
Leo Prime’s alternate mode is a lion, a repaint from Cybertron Leo Breaker to be specifically. The white color works on him pretty well comparing to the blue and red repaint. He is quite large but the articulations are very limited. The head is static and the mouth can only be opened by pressing the Autobot button on top. Well, if you look more closely (or if you have the Cybertron versions), this mouth open button actually triggers the light and sound feature but was removed in this version. As well as you can pretty much tell where the battery cap goes and was sealed now. He can’t really pose much in beast mode unlike I expected.
The transformation is as simple as can be that my son knows right away after I showed him once (which is good as many modern Transformers are somewhat over complicate). Leo Prime’s robot mode looks good but still very beast like. Pretty much just like a lion standing up. The head is his chest and the front legs are his hands and rear as legs. Articulations are still very limited as well especially the legs. He pretty much has only one click to open wide and that’s all. There is also no swirl joint to adjust the feet angle. He is very tall as a voyager class. Comparing him to Classics voyager Prime, he is over a head taller than him. He can also transform to the hand mode but since I don’t have Cybertron Optimus or Megatron for him to combine with, this feature will be ignored.
Transformation: 9 – As if there is almost no transformation. But that’s important because my son can on it by himself. Thumb up.
Fun: 9 – Easy fun for him to play with and transformation and that’s why I bought for him. Display: 6 – He looks quite good in both modes but lack many articulations. Value: 10 – A tail less Leo Prime for only $3, I am very happy about this purchase. Overall: 8 – I would never buy this toy for myself but this is a good one for my son. Now I have to either find or make a tail for him. |
