For My Son‎ > ‎

Huffer

Power Core Combiner (PCC) is a new toy line based on nowhere with minor (or not even) important characters. The concept is based
on target master/mini-con and energon powerlink. The first figure that interested me in the beginning is Smolder which truns into
a fire brush truck, but quickly passed him and then the entire line after seeing the real thing. One day my wife called me at work
saying our son wanted Huffer (and the Ca#$*@&$), I told her I don't recommend but okay if she wanted to buy for him. She didn't
at the time but then did when I was out for a business trip.

Huffer's alternate mode is a more modern truck instead of his older G1 version. He is actually quite well detailed and painted in
vehicle mode and he rolls very well. Caliburst (the mini-con which I will talk about him later) can be attached on the bed as a gun,
but doesn't seem that necessary. Still don't know why but how on Cybertron did Hasbro decide to use sky blue as the color of the
connectors. They totally don't fit well and distract the entire look.

The transformation is just simple and again in robot mode, he is well colored and detailed. Even though his right arm underneath
can attach the mini-con, I still think they should at least made the hand with fist hole so he can hold something else instead of
the nonsense palm. His posing is okay but the hip joints are kind of loose.

Now to the worst part of the set. Caliburst, the mini-con. It is a good concept that the mini-con can support it's master (same
concept as target master and power master) in many forms. Caliburst can stand along as a mini robot, can be as a turret in Huffer's
vehicle mode, and can be a weapon or a power up armor in Huffer's robot mode. But Hasbro does not do it well. First, why use clear
plastic? He will definitely look better with regular colored plastic like other Armada mini-cons. Then, even though he has 4 modes,
none of them look good with poor quality control. His hip joints are very loose and when folding his legs, there should be at least
a peg hole or something to hold them in place. But no, they just hang over there. Last, his huge gun. It can be popped easily and in
danger of loosing it.

Since I will never buy other 5 packs (the dinobot one could possibly be an exception depends on my son), I will skip his combine
mode but just provide the picture below.

Transformation: 8 - Huffer is fairly easy and reasonable for his scount class size.
Fun: 10 - My son's toy and he has funs with them.
Display: 7 - TBH, Huffer's truck mode looks much better than robot mode.
Value: 6 - Gee! $9.99 regular price from Target. Putting the useless Caliburst away, Huffer is too expensive. Add him back in makes
this set not that worth also.
Overall: 7 - Just an average figure even though carrying the name of Huffer, plus Caliburst ruins the value.
