For now I know my son fits better with smaller toys since they are easier to handle and transform. And to my surprise, he cares about scale and screen accuracy sometimes. So when the movie DOTM toys came out, I know the Cyberverse sets fit him the best and this is the reason I still think he shouldn’t get those voyager and leader class toys. After I got him Cyberverse Prime as a reward, he was so happy about it and loved it so much. So I’m sure he will be even happier when he gets his Christmas gift in the name of his two lovely cousins, Sentinel Prime and Megatron. Sentinel Prime’s alternate mode is that Rosenbauer Panther airport fire truck as seen on movie. This little truck is really well designed with enough details. It rolls well and is pretty sturdy when everything connects well together. If the boom arm can be moved up and down and the windows are painted silver, I think this will be a perfect little truck. Transformation is quite easy but separating and connecting the cab section is tricky sometimes since the wings are in the way. Sentinel Prime’s robot mode looks nice and he has the double-blade sword and shield, exactly the same like leader class. And to my surprise, this smaller version is somehow even more screen accurate than the leader class. What am I talking about? It’s his back. While leader class has many panels hanging on his back, this Cyberverse version only has two which is what he has in the movie. So less kibbles and he is much easier to handle with. What really didn’t do well are his legs. Due to the knee design and after rotating the legs, Sentinel will have huge balance issue. He is always leaning backward and I need to lean his body forward in order for him to stand. By looking at them more, the legs can be fixed by design so I don’t know why this flaw can pass Hasbro’s quality test. Also the weapons can cause thumb stress marks but this is no news anymore. Besides this, the articulations are really nice that he can pose very well. Transformation: 6 – Somewhat tricky when transforming back to truck mode and the leg design sadly cause balance issue. Fun: 8 – My son loves him. Truck mode is fun and robot mode is well articulated. Plus the sword and shield, this is a very fun figure to play with but the balance issue caused it. Display: 8 – Color scheme and paint jobs are well done but did Hasbro forget the cab section? Value: 10 – If you can find any sale or discount price, this figure is worth your purchase. For me, he doesn’t cost anything. Overall: 7 – My son really loves this figure. Even though he still has some trouble putting it back to truck mode but I know he will get a hang of it later. This figure only disappoints at the leg design which causes balance issue but otherwise a pretty fun figure. |
