CMegatron

When you have a Optimus Prime and like it very much, how can you not have a Megatron for him to fight against?

Cyberverse Megatron’s alternate mode is that Mack oil tank truck which has shown in the movie. Besides looking a little bit different, what’s different is the entire trailer is no longer his legs but also a battle platform like Optimus’ trailer. Because of this reason, this Cyberverse commander class figure’s length is almost the same as his voyager class one. Again, this truck looks very good and well detailed and colored. The trailer also has two fake tires but they don’t look that fake and also the working one looks much better comparing to Optimus’ trailer. Megatron himself can be attached from the trailer and the trailer can transform and attach back to the cab as a wing. To me, this is none sense so I don’t even bother try.

Megatron’s transformation is better designed and slightly easier than Optimus. The robot mode looks not bad and he is well balanced. Megatron is also very poseable and fun to play along with or without trailer. What really went wrong here is Hasbro’s poor quality control. The truck’s grill is now sliding down to Megatron’s chest but due to a metal pin inside his chest to hold the head that is not fully cut or pushed in, the grill cannot slide down completely but leaning up a little bit. What’s worse is one of the tiny metal pin that is holding the grill is so loose. It is now lost and luckily another pin can still hold the entire grill.

The trailer’s transformation is much better designed and less frustrating than Optimus’ trailer. It can form the battle wing mode to attach on Megatron’s back or a weapon platform. Only trouble is the missile trigger is at the usual convenient place that means the missile is easily triggered by accident.

Transformation: 9 – Megatron’s transformation is better designed. My son is doing it even without instruction.
Fun: 9 – A fun figure set to play with. My only concern is the quality that I mentioned on the grill part.
Display: 9 – Megatron is less colorful but he still displays very well.
Value: 10 – If you find sale or discount, grab him. He doesn’t cost my a penny besides gas, though.
Overall: 8 – Comparing to Optimus Prime Cyberverse set, Megatron is better designed to transform and play with. Maybe my bad luck but those two metal pins issue disappointed me.
