Accessories for the PT Cruiser

Like the new MINI Cooper made by BMW, the PT Cruiser attacts owners who like customising their cars to their own individual needs and schemes. Chrysler and Mopar do not offer a big range of accessories in their genuine OE dealer catalogues, and since the introduction of the car, many aftermarket companies have now realised the marketing potential of accessories to customise cars. In addition, Car Clubs have started in many countries where the PT is sold. The car has even developed a cult status and hot-rod customisers have many project cars on record.

The stock standard PT is somewhat bland with painted parts in body colour, and almost seems to need extra highlights. Whether this was a deliberate ploy by Chrysler to keep base pricing down is unknown.

Having found their PT Cruiser devoid of character, Greg and Mary started making enquires on where to buy any accessories and after many leads, have found a number of USA companies who willing supply and ship to New Zealand. There are many such companies in the USA who do not ship outside mainland USA. There seem to be many companies in Great Britain and even Germany who advertise parts on Ebay auctions. Also sites in Australia are well organised and stock many such parts at competitive prices.
