Study Tips

  • Attend class. As one student put it – this is your job!
  • Pay attention in class.
  • Read chapter and answer test yourself questions (for better/deeper
    understanding) before class.
  • Take any notes in class that further understanding.
  • Do the online practice quizzes.
  • When studying before exam, use the study guide partially for guidance,
but mostly go through each chapter again reading all of the concepts and
    experiments.
  • Try to attend to hypotheses, experimental methods, and the results of
experiments that either support or refute particular hypotheses. Try to see
the big picture. A particular experiment or hypothesis is part of a bigger
story. Try to see what that story is.
  • Have a positive “mindset”. Do not see the task of learning as a burden.
