Psicotext is a research group of professors and researchers from the University of Valencia. Psicotext performs research on comprehension and learning from text in complex settings, mainly educational ones but not exclusively. The group has developed tools to investigate on-line task-oriented reading called Read&Answer and RADAR, and to analyse expository texts called ETAT. The group has also developed tests called CompLEC and e-CompLEC to assess reading comprehension literacy skills of high school students in Spanish. The group has also developed an automated tutor called TuinLEC to teach reading literacy skills to middle and junior high school students.

 

Psicotext has received external funding from public institutions and private companies, and it collaborates with other international research groups regularly. The group participates in a Doctorate Program qualified for Excellence by the Spanish Ministry of Education togeher with some other universities.

 

 El grupo “Psicotext” está compuesto por profesores e investigadores de la Universidad de Valencia. El grupo investiga en cuestiones relacionadas con la comprensión y el aprendizaje a través de textos en situaciones complejas, principalmente situaciones educativas, pero no exclusivamente. El grupo ha desarrollado herramientas para investigar procesos de lectura-orientada-a-tareas llamadas Read&Answer y RADAR, y otra para analizar textos expositivos llamada ETAT. El grupo ha desarrollado también tests de competencia lectora llamados CompLEC y           e-CompLEC para evaluar la competencia lectora de estudiantes de Educación Secundaria. El grupo tambiñén ha desarrollado un tutor automático llamado TuinLEC para enseñar capacidades de competencia lectora a estudiantes entre 6º de Primaria y 2º de Educación Secundaria.
