PSEF Endowment

The idea of an endowment came around in late 2010 during a meeting between the 2010 Exec and PSEF's advisors.  The endowment has since been put into motion by the teamwork of the 2001 & 2010 PSEF Presidents.  They are working to contact as many PSEF alumni as possible, starting with the 16 Presidents that have had the honor to lead such a strong organization.  The endowment will provide a way to level out the cyclic patterns of PSEF's budget and help to fund established events, new events, and member development.

We appreciate you taking the time to learn more about the endowment.  We encourage you to leave your thoughts in the forum below and download the attached information below about the endowment.
Mission
Establish an endowment that will provide a stable financial base for on-going PSEF programs and, as the endowment grows, seed funds for new projects. This will allow PSEF to continue to provide high quality programming that is responsive to the needs of prospective students, regardless of economic climate. If we are unable to raise Purdue’s minimum endowment startup of $25,000 in 5 years, the money raised will be transferred into PSEF’s account and be used to support PSEF’s general operating expenses.

Goals

  • Raise $25,000 over 5 years
    • Contact previous 15 PSEF Presidents, obtaining pledges
    • Obtain pledges from their Executive Committee teammates and their PSEF class using the contacts of the PSEF Presidents.
  • Fund Current Events
    • Continue to support PSEF's cornerstone events, such as Engineering EXPO and Engineering 104/404 classes
    • Expand on new aspects of current events, improving the overall appeal of the event
  • Fund New Events
    • Enable new ideas to become new events without finances being the limiting factor in the transformation from idea to event
    • Encourage new events by having funds to support them
  • Member Development
    • Support member-only events that will improve leadership, education, well-being, and morale of members; this could be accomplished using guest speakers, workshops, and other functions.
