I'm not doing much training for the next couple of months because I'm expecting a baby at the end of November. I'm still riding once a week to get my horse fix, though...

This blog is a little update on the newest addition to our family, Crazy Bear. He is the son of Medicine Dog, a BLM mustang, and Cherokee Boogie, an SMR-registered Spanish mustang.

I was able to have a friend take pictures of the entire birth. What an amazing thing to see. Email me if you'd like to see them. I'll leave them off this blog! (Although they aren't that bad)

I'll get some more pictures up soon. I halter broke him about a week ago; he'll lead well when I go in circles around his mama.

He's becoming quite the affectionate little colt. He'll chew on my hair and fingers, and loves chin scratches as well as neck rubs.

One of his little colt-friends born a few hours after him is his playmate. Very curious, but not nearly as affectionate as our Crazy Bear. I bought them a little red ball, but they are still a little scared of it. Hopefully soon he'll pick it up and throw it for himself!

Crazy Bear was born as a twin.  The twin had died a few months before, so he was able to get enough nutrition to make it to birth. It is very rare for a twin to survive, but even more extremely rare for both twins to live through birth. I am very lucky to see Crazy Bear's fun personality. He's a little smaller due to that, but we'll keep him on his mama's milk for longer than usual to bulk him up good (Like my southern talk?).
