I. UCLA's Call To Action Dear fellow UC community members, Students, staff, and faculty at UCLA are hard at work planning for a state-wide mobilization to UCLA on November 19th. We will provide food, music, and a tent city for travelers coming to UCLA on the evening of November 18th and staying to participate in a full day of events on Thursday, the 19th. We stand in solidarity with all actions dedicated to defending public education and fighting for equal, quality education for ALL Californians. We plan to shake up the UCLA campus with a show of unprecedented political strength in unity. Los Angeles is the home of the largest civil rights demonstrations that our nation has ever seen in the mass mobilizations against the anti-immigrant HR 4437 in 2006. We have an opportunity to bring that struggle to our campus. We invite you to join us, speak at the UC Regents’ meeting public comment, picket, rally, and march. We plan to show the UC Regents and all cynical forces working to dismantle public education that business as usual is not an option. We hope that you answer our call-to-action. All out to UCLA on November 19th, 2009! In Solidarity, UCLA Fights Back Organizers
