Why should I care about end-time prophecy?There are many reasons for studying Bible prophecy. One great reason, though, is that there is much evidence to suggest that prophecy is being fulfilled even as you read this! For two thousand years, every generation has wondered whether or not they would see the Second Coming of Christ. But never before have the players of prophecy all lined up for it to be fulfilled in one generation. "...when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled." Matthew 24:33,34 God has warned us that these will be troublesome times. We need to take the initiative to prepare for them. "A prudent man forseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished" Proverbs 22:3 Understanding Bible prophecy and the significance of the days that we live in, is a major part of that preparation. "...none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand." Daniel 12:10
The wise will be ready. The foolish will be unprepared.
Like it or not, believe it or not, you are a part of the end of this age and the battle between God and evil. No one living or dead, believing or unbelieving will sit this one out. "Behold, he cometh with the clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all the kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen." Revelation 1:7 On whose side will YOU be found?
The Conflict of the Ages is soon to begin. The dark clouds of the tribulation are forming on the horizon. The speed at which this storm will come will leave many amazed and unprepared. Fortunately, we have not been left in the dark. The veil surround-ing hard-to-understand, end-time prophecy is beginning to lift. Prophecy that could never have been understood before our time is now making sense. "And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things? And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end." Daniel 12:8,9
Here is one major prophecy that is starting to make a lot of sense: A prophesied War that begins at the Euphrates River. Has WORLD WAR III already started ? Meir Amit, former Chief of Israel's Mossad, believes we are on the eve of WWIII. "Global civilization is on the verge of World War III - a massive conflict in which the Islamic world will attempt to impose its ideology on western nations." James Woolsey, former director of the CIA, believes that the next World War HAS ALREADY STARTED. Could the Iraq war expand and engulf the earth in the most horrendous world war in human history with over 2 billion dead? Considering current world events and end-time Bible prophecy, the possibility for this war to occur at any time is extremely high! All other wars combined will pale in comparison to the end-time battles. "For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the begin-ning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened." Matthew 24:21,22 Don't be left in the Dark! Now is not the time to be ignorant of End-time Scripture.Taking into consideration that such a large portion of Scripture is either prophecy or tied to it, prophecy must be a very important part of God's message to us. Therefore, the knowledge of these Scriptures and the information they contain should be very important to God's people. In the end-times it will be crucial! In the Bible, Jesus tells us that the deceptions, in the days preceding His return, will be so convincing, THAT EVEN THE ELECT WOULD BE DECEIVED IF IT WERE POSSIBLE! Friend, we must be alert and we need to understand the times we live in. This will not happen if we do not have the knowledge of the end time Bible prophecies.
