Accessories As for Accessories, I will just give you a bunch of Link's to the stuff that I have and other good stuff I have heard about: This car Stand is just great: DuraTrax Pit Tech Car Stand $10.99 If you are tired of stripping your screw's, or just want to be able to take stuff apart three time faster, these are what you want: EDS Hex Drivers $7.96 ea. This is a great tool for taking accurate temperature readings of your motor and ESC. DuraTrax FlashPoint Inferred Temperature Gauge $24.95 If you want a great accurate way to measure speed, this is what you want: Bushnell II Radar Gun $79.95 This is a great solution for anyone wanting to make on board videos with their truck, they are only about $8 and take great video: Key Chain Camera $8 Soldering I recently just bought a soldering station and did a lot of research before buying, so I thought I would let you know what I found out. If you just need a cheap little soldering iron to solder here and there, just go to Radio Shack and buy a 40-60w iron, it will get the job done. If you want to spend a bit more and get a soldering station (soldering stations have a temperature controls unit that controlled the temperature on your iron tip, and the tip is also grounded (not that it matter that much for RC electronics), and they also come with a nice iron holder), the Aoyue 937 is a good station for the price, and it uses the same tips as the Hakko systems: Aotue 937+ $53.99 I wanted the Hakko 936 Station but didn't want to pay to much, so I got the TK-950 (TrakPower TK-950), it's the same as the Hakko 936, but it's only $80 from Tower Hobbies: TK-950 $79.99 Stormer Hobbies carries the new Hakko FX-888, it is very similar to the 936, but it's 70W instead of 60W, so it might be better for some larger applications, but it is about double the size of the 936:
FX-888 $84.95 Wire, Connectors, Heat Shrink Tubing, etc. Everyone will need some wire sooner or later for making some sort of harness that you can't buy, or some Traxxas, Deans or bullet connectors to solder onto a motor, ESC or battery. Turnigy wire is amazing and you can't beat the price, HobbyKing also makes some great knockoff Traxxas and Deans Connectors. The Heat Shrink tubing is dirt cheap and works great. Because I can't give you a link to the search results you will just have to go to HobbyKing and search for the stuff you want. |
