Would you like to learn about sustainable, community-based international aid projects, practice and perfect your Spanish skills, participate in educational activities, learn about the Peruvian culture, integrate into a community, and perhaps travel to an amazing country? If so, you might be interested in Project Suyana.
This year we will be engaging in the development of sustainable projects in Southern Peru in the Puno region. Our projects aim to be culturally-relevant, specifically targeted towards groups that we have visited and developed relationships with in the past, require little capital input, utilize local resources in a non-damaging manners, and be trainable to those in the community such that they can train others. All in all, we want our projects to continue even when Project Suyana cannot maintain a physical or monetary presence. We plan to use literature and information from projects all over the world and distill it down to a few targets projects we can undertake this coming summer. For this, we need as many minds as possible contributing to our project developments. We encourage anyone interest to come and learn about what we are doing, as well as provide input. This semester, our meetings will take place on Wednesdays @ 8:30-10ish pm in Palmer Commons, 6th Floor, Boardroom 5.
We seek highly compassionate and motivated undergraduate students to participate in our on-campus operations and/or go on our annual undergraduate summer trip, taking place for four weeks after the Spring Semester. Come to learn more about our group and how you can be involved as either a traveling or non-traveling member. |
