'I can. I will. I did.'
- Just about everybody who ever set out to achieve their dreams
The Bootleg Film Festival is getting heated up again, ready for it's second outing, officially titled Bootleg 2.0
In September 2009, we rocked the basement art gallery of the Offshore Coffee Shop in Glasgow's West End. Now, continuing in the promise of a different city for each festival, Bootleg 2.0 is getting ready to shine by the beach in beautiful Swansea, down on the Welsh coast.
The dates you need to keep an eye on are: February 5th, 6th and 7th, 2010. This is when we'll be bringing the best new undiscovered movies from all around the world to the coolest venue in town, Monkey Cafe on Castle street.
A whole host of events will be announced as the festival draws near, including a special screening of some of last year's Bootlegger's follow up movies and details of how the festival pushed their careers forward those key few steps.
If you're a filmmaker and you want to get your movie shown, hold tight, because the entry details will be live soon.
And, like last year, same rules apply: No penguin suits, no BS, just seriously good movies cut from the finest indie talents out there, all for your enjoyment.
The 2008 winners list...
Best Short Film: Hatemail
Best Short Film Director: Jeffrey P. Nesker for Nightclub Story
Best Feature Film: Yeast
Best Feature Film Director: Shared between Jason Butler and Brett Butler for Confusions of an Unmarried Couple
Outstanding Achievement Award: Michael Sharck for Clocked
