Feedback & Evaluation

Students will complete a self-evaluation, peer evaluation, teacher/classroom evaluation, media specialist/media center evaluation. The evaluations will be reviewed and tabulated for discussion between the media specialist and the teacher. We will discuss the pros/cons shared and qualitative answers regarding the unit to determine areas that may need changed for future semesters/years. The evaluations may result in adding resources to the media center, changing format of one or more lessons, expanding/collapsing areas that were or were not adequately covered. We will also make certain to evaluate if there was enough emotional support for issues that arose from the inquiry into difficult subjects.

Leslie Preddy's Self-evaluation tool allows for qualitative answers--which I really appreciate: http://www.lesliepreddy.com/Inquiry/CSe2.pdf

The teacher/media specialist evaluation is also thorough and strong: http://www.lesliepreddy.com/Inquiry/CSEI.pdf

Another evaluative tool will be the student projects themselves. Were they of the caliber we were hoping to see? Was our rubric/checklist thorough enough based on discussion between the two of us on what worked and what didn’t. Throughout the unit we will both keep notes of frequently asked questions and we will compare those as well to see if there was an area that needs to be taught more specifically in future lessons.
