  • PICC-2012 Help For New Umpires: $100 For a Reason.
All Umpires are suggested of the following Guidelines.
    0. Night Before: Visit Officials Corner: Print Hard Copy of By-Laws, Team Roster Empty so can get team lists, and print Umpires Pocket Book (all available under Officials Corner).
    1. Before you Leave, Contact Playing Captains (Phone Numbers can be located in Club Contacts and Registered Umpires') Sections.
    2. Print a Hard Copy of By-Laws, keep it with you while Game is Under Progress (Some of you have i-phones, which is perfectly fine).
    3. After you arrive in field, confirm pitch is ready (Creases are marked, chalks are there for batsmen, Mat does not have holes, duct tape is available in case its needed, Cones are placed).
    4. Before the toss, obtain a copy of team list, make sure you pass the names correctly to Scorers, so there is no confusion.
    5. Clearly convey rules and/or special rules to both Captains before the first ball is bowled.
    6. Warn Scorers if needed, before too late, that they need to score error free, names properly listed, so on and so forth. Advise Captains to enforce this.
    7. As the game progresses, check with scorers what the score is (i usually check after every two overs). There is a umpires' pocket book you can print from "Official's Corner".
    8. Finalize Score sheets (one can be done at the innings break), second after the game, get the hard copies.
    9. Download a brand new MASTER SCOREBOOK from Officials' Corner (download after the game, MASTER SCOREBOOK contains updated lists by each Saturday Morning, so don't rely on something you downloaded 3 weeks ago, as it may not have all player names, download the most recent).
    10. Report Highlights by 7pm Tuesday. Transfer Hard Copy onto MASTER SCOREBOOK, save the file with .xls (Excel) extension and send to either Joe (Sat Coordinators) and/or Mandeep (Sun Coordinators) by Friday 7pm.

  • PICC Pre-Season 2012
Gents and Ladies, Schedule is now posted, it would be appreciated if clubs do not request any changes in schedule. Folks, it is hard enough to schedule the tournament. PICC organizers do it for fun, not to take anything away from any of your respective clubs organizations. Everything must be done in an order and by due dates, most of you were advised, clubs who responded and took care of business,  we ensured they are playing in it.

As far Schedule goes, yes minor glitches in schedule, but 10 Teams, 1 Month, 5 Fields, most of you have taken (or I assume algebra) Linear Algebra and Statsitics, try fitting those permutations with restrains as clubs can't play and/or fields not available. Its tough to satisfy all needs in one month, to move one game 3 must be modified, hence I request please do not request any changes.

Pre-Season is meant to be started as pre-season, and end as pre-season.

Let's give it a good start, PICC organizers welcome all of you and wish Good luck to all clubs in the Tournament.

If any of you wish to become certified umpire, there is online exam, you may take anytime, it automatically submits us results. You have to read By-Laws and they are available online and are handy, while taking exam (online visit Officials Corner). If you are interested, you may even submit your name to Umpire a game, that is you can send us a date if you want to officiate a game, visit "Officials Corner". If you wish to make some money by umpiring, please send an email to Arpit and/or Joe Pannapara and/or Mandeep Sandhu. They handle all umpiring. Emails can be located by going to Schedules and Fixtures Page on Left.
