What's this about?

Over the past couple years, I have experienced some mind boggling improvements in health. I discovered (after 46 years...) that my body does not like wheat. Probably never did.

In May 2006, at 46, I was so tired, sick and overweight, I was convinced that it was just my destiny that I could not be healthy nor slender.   I was desperate to loose weight & had tried so many diets but never made much progress. And it just seemed that with every passing year I was getting more sick and even more tired. I was barely eating and one could think that's all I did all day... All my health issues had come up so gradually over the years that I truly had given up on good health. Amazingly enough, a complete stranger(!) told me I was killing myself by the foods I was eating. We talked; I did some research online; I got some good info from a health food store. And then, I decided I had nothing to loose by trying and just 6 days later I knew I was on the right track when I woke up feeling rested. It was truly such a foreign feeling - to not wake up exhausted in the morning!! With all my improved health, the weight loss truly just feels like an extra benefit!

The dramatic changes in my health are numerous and varied, from weight loss to major improved sleep to no more... gas, bloating,  constipation, hemorrhoids,  yeast infections, allergies, nasal congestion, gingivitis, and no more foggy brain! The whites of my eyes are whiter, my stomach doesn't hurt and I have less muscle and bone aches, the list goes on, in fact 23 seemingly unrelated symptoms that I no longer have to deal with... YES!  After seeing the improvement in my health, my very skeptical brother, who says I look younger by 10 years(!) (the brown bags under my eyes are history, my skin is clearer and tighter and quite a few wrinkles have up and gone!!), anyway, he decided to try the diet! My daughter joined me on my diet, not only got rid of 60 lbs herself (!) but her grades have improved significantly!!!  I have friends who have tried this and also are raving. But of course, it's not for everyone..  During my readings about wheat intolerance, I learned that this "condition" runs in families, in people of Meditarranean heritage, well, actually just about anybody -  so... if you have any unexplained health issues i.e., digestive/immune system issues -  like acid reflux, heartburn, IBS, skin issues, you just get sick too often or just some of the above that I mention, it could be so worth your time to give this "gluten-free, yeast-free " diet a try. I suspect that you would know within 7-10 days whether wheat (gluten) is a hindrance to your good health.

I suspect that many of us have some level of a wheat intolerance. Or have family members that do.  It is not that difficult to follow the diet, and believe me, it is so worth it! There are wheat free breads that are quite delicious, even pastas that are great to eat. I make tabouleh with an alternative grain called quinoa instead of bulghor. And it's delicious! My gluten-fine family members ask me to make "my" tabouleh regularly!

I do hope that I have not offended you with my testimonial - no doubt I shared more than you ever wanted to know, but if this site helps just one more of us get back to health, it will have been worth it. If this interests you, please read on!
