In A Nutshell!

For those who don't want to read through all the links and just want the meat and bones of it....
this is a summary of the diet and basic supplements without explanations or whys...

Food: http://www.wholeapproach.com/diet/WholeApproach_Food_List.pdf

You must drink lots of water, preferably cool, not cold. Tea when you want more than water.

Vegetables, vegetables, and more vegetables. Eat as much raw as you can - and when you do cook, don't overcook. Make salads w/ veggies - with e.v. olive oil or other good oils and lemon/herbs, Add boiled eggs and nuts/seeds.

Some protein - eggs, lots of fish, less chicken and even less red meat/pork.

Quinoa, brown rice, wild rice, non-wheat pasta - make a big quinoa tabouleh to have a small bowl from when you get hungry. Make a big pot of veggie soup.

Raw nuts and seeds - small portions on the nuts, they cause gas and discomfort. (no peanuts nor pistachios)

Fruit - for now, only green apples (incl. the core and seeds!) and berries. Eat for breakfast and wait 30+ minutes before having other food. And you can eat fruit at the end of the day, three hours after you've eaten dinner.

When you must have bread - non-wheat bread!

and... You must drink lots of water, preferably cool, not cold. Tea when you want more than water. But not when you're eating... drinking more than 4 ounces of liquids dilutes your digestive power

You can eat as much as you want from the 'green' foods - no need to be hungry. You could also eat 4 meals a day instead of 3 to avoid being hungry.  This is not a quantity diet - do not let yourself get hungry!

When out and about - stop your waiter from even bringing the bread to the table - do not tempt yourself! For your main course, replace the starches with extra veggies - I've not ever been refused. For breakfast even, they might look at you funny - but as once happened, the waitress said - 'That looks pretty good!' (I ordered eggs, meats and broccoli with sliced tomatoes. The plate was beautiful!) In Asian restaurants - ditto - "no rice and extra veggies please!" So what if she thinks you're a nut. Like I told my cousin, why tempt yourself with something that you know will cause you discomfort?

Supplements:

Multivitamin - a liquid mulit-vitamin is awesome - I like Peter Gillham's Natural Vitality - it meets my requirements and it's tasty!

Probiotic - Healthy Trinity by Natren is the gold standard but at $2 a pill... I buy Renew Life's probiotics.

KM by Matol - this is an alkalizing mineral that is of great benefit to the pancreas. Contact me by email if you'd like more info.

Digestive enzymes - Digest or Digest Gold by Enzymedica are great products depending on your needs but if you have acid reflux, try Acid Soothe

There are plenty of other great products, great companies - these are just my favorites... pick products with the least amount of additives - It should say 'no sugar, no yeast, no starch, no gluten, etc. etc..." on the label. What you are looking for is that there are no "fillers."
