During the summer, there is lemonade and fellowship in Mulford Hall after the 10 am service. We are grateful to the Moore Family for their year round lemonade ministry and to our Membership and Church Life & Program committees for helping! UPDATE FROM HAITI! May 23, 2012, near Port –au-Prince. A group of 13 people from The Presbyterian Church in Chatham Township are currently in Haiti building a cistern for water and a wall around an area that will eventually house 4 schools, a church and a clinic. The group, which left last Thursday, May 17, have worked on the school building, the cistern and moved blocks to assist the masons building the wall that will encompass the entire five acres.
They have also participated in Sunday School, Worship and then the Vacation Bible School program. The group also played soccer and for the first time in two years, Foundation For Peace did not lose. They tied 1-1 thanks to our PCCT team.
Plans are for the first building to be opened by October. The group will return to the United States on Saturday, May 26. This group was spearheaded by Hank Belusa through the Foundation for Peace. *************************************************************** BOOK SALE! Men’s Group OPENING UP REGISTRATION TO 10 MORE PEOPLE!! A fun and
informative course about money, created by Joel Read, to help prepare young
adults for their financial independence. Course goals: 1) explain financial fundamentals for daily
living, 2) help them avoid common pitfalls, 3) gain confidence to discuss money
issues, and 4) commit themselves to control their money.
Course workbook includes all 18
topics. Course presentation includes an introduction to money management
(survey), rotate through 8-10 topics (10 minutes each), and wrap-up
session. Then enjoy refreshments and
additional Q&A time prior to departure. Date: Wednesday, May 30, 2012
