Tracfone frequently offers bundles combining phones and airtime cards from their website, and these are usually offered at very good prices. The site currently offers a Double Minute for Life card along with a brand new Motorola C139, all for a total of only $14.99. This is a tremendous deal considering that the Double Minute card alone would cost $49.99 in a department store. The beauty of this is that the Double Minute card can be added to ANY Tracfone – it is NOT limited to the phone that comes in the bundle.

However, my new favorite is ebates.com. They offer a $5 new-user sign up bonus, and 5% or more back on phone purchases from Tracfone.com.

 

Now, here are the step-by-step instructions for purchasing a phone/airtime bundle from Tracfone's website:

 

1. If you haven't already signed up, go to ebates.com (I recommend you right click the link and open a new window, so you can refer back to this page as necessary), then enter your email address and choose a password. (You may also enter my address, pbushx2@hotmail.com, in the referral box, but you'll get your $5 bonus either way – entering my address would simply reward me with a few extra dollars for recommending the site to you.) Then click on “Start Shopping,” and you're ready to go.

 

2. On the next page you should see near the center/top of the screen that you are signed in and the $5.00 bonus has been credited to your cash back account. To the left of your login information, you will see a box that allows you to search for stores and products. Enter “Tracfone” in this box and hit enter, or click “Search”.

 

3. Click on the “Tracfone” link near the middle of the page, and you should see the following message:

“You’re on your way to 5% Cash Back at Tracfone! Your Tracking Ticket Number is: ########”

 

4. Once you've “landed” on the Tracfone page, you will be prompted to enter the zip code where you will be using the phone the most.
