The 2010 Pearl River County Amateur Radio Club Hamfest will be Saturday, December 11 at the old National Guard Armory, located at the intersection of Highway 11 and Highway 26 in Poplarville, Ms. Doors will open at 8 a.m. Saturday, We will have two forums, one from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on QRP (low power) operation, and one from 11 a.m. to noon on ARRL/ARES. Several special guests will be on hand, including Mississippi ARRL Section Manager Mickey Keown and Delta Division Manager Mickey Cox.
Table sales will be available, as well as several vendors, including VIS, Cedar City Sales, Palmetto Antennas, The Sign Man of Baton Rouge, ABR Industries and Icom America.
VE Testing for all classes will be offered at 8 a.m. $14 with picture ID and proof of any prior license.
Tables are $10.
Entry is $5 - which includes one ticket for door prize drawings. There will also be Grand Prize Drawing Tickets available.
The Pearl River County Emergency Operations Center Communications Trailer, Ray Luke's Communications Trailer and the Gulf Coast Search and Rescue Team Trailer will be on hand.
New this year - the Northshore / Slidell Radio Control Club will be present to share their hobby.
Concessions will be available.
