| Meet Weston, he is a very loving, energetic, beautiful 3 year old who is completely blind. Weston was born with a rare disorder called Septo Optic Dysplasia, also known as De Morsier's Syndrome. Septo Optic Dysplasia is an underdevelopment of the optic nerve along with Hypopituitarism which means that the pituitary gland is diminished, therefore Weston receives medication to supply the hormones that his body does not produce and he receives a Growth Hormone shot every night. We have been told that there is no cure for this disorder up until now! There is a new procedure being performed in China that may help to give Weston vision and help correct some of his other problems. The procedure is known as a series of umbilical cord Stem Cell Injections. This has been performed on 9 children all of whom have developed light perception and vision. The cost of this procedure and trip is approximately $40,000. We need your help to give Weston his only chance to See! |
