I am pursuing a Ph.D. at SUNY-ESF in Syracuse, NY.
My interests include plant and wetland ecology, climate change, and conservation biology. Along with my advisor, Donald J. Leopold, I am investigating the effects of climate change on groundwater fed wetlands (fens) that are suspected refugia.

I am using a combination of dendrochronology, modeling and field studies to:

  • elucidate the growth response of Pinus strobus and Abies balsamea in fen and upland settings
  • reveal environmental gradients influencing the distribution of disjunct and southern range margin boreal and alpine plant species in fens
  • describe the susceptibility of high conservation priority wetlands to climate change
