    Read & Write for Pragyan

    Friends,

We do believe that it is not always necessary for a bird to have a garden for twittering at the crack of dawn.  Instead, the bird who can sing sitting anywhere, he finds to sit on, make mankind dream for a garden.

It’s our unique journey for last six years started with one single step forward. Now, whenever  some friends inquire that why we're not  flying , we only find a reason to rejoice, if not getting able to fly !!  “Use Whatever Resources You Have” –these are the buzzwords which made us to survive all these years and reach to you.

So, please, don't be dismayed if we don't have any independent site.  Let’s make journey together. Please, do read and write in PRAGYAN.

With Thanks  Sushanta Kar,    Executive Editor, Pragyan

    Pragyan, November 10

"I was really surprised when I was told that my grandmother did not come to see me till a month after my birth. I was born seven years after my only sister Chandranshu and my birth was a big disappointment for her” that was how Saina Nehwal expressed her anguish in a column written for India Today magazine. The November 2010 issue of Pragyan made a report on her and general attitude of our society towards women in the Panorama section. The issue has focused on the women’s cause and released at the inaugural day of 5 days Residential Sensitisation/Awareness/Motivation (SAM) Workshop under UGC Scheme on “Capacity Building of Women Managers in Higher Education” started from November 8th , 2010 at the Tinsukia college. The event was organised by The Cell for Women’s Studies and Development (CWSD), Tinsukia College. It was Pragyan’s attempt to add a little flavour to the Cell’s noble initiative. A good number of writers like Bantimala Devi, Indira Mukherjee, Dr Tanusree Sarker,Anita Baruwa, Sangita Baruah came forward to highlight women’s plight in this twenty first century.  Writer Indira Mukherjee has raised a few fundamental questions  about the housewives productivity in the economy as a whole and family in particular. Dr Jury Dutta has tried to make us re-read Mamoni Raisom Goswami’s Autobiography from a different angle with new incite.

Cell for Women’s Studies and Development (CWSD), Tinsukia College also published a bilingual little magazine cal ANORONON to mark the UGC sponsored 5 day event. Here we’re uploading that too along with PRAGYAN, November, 10 i.e vol.viii, issue-ii.

Dr Bhuban Gogoi, principal , Tinsukia College continued with his article written for Pragyan on Global Warming .  Dr Gogoi’s write up will make you think other wise on the myths of ‘Global Warming’. Arup Baisya’s also continuing with his reconstruction of Marxian thought.

The American Educationist Joseph Landsberger continues to write on Study Guides and Strategies. The same translation by Bantimala Devi  and the Bengali Translation by Sushanta Kar will again appear in his own site.

Dr Palash J Mazumder---- the Guwahati based author of globally acclaimed book ‘The Circle of Fire’ has expressed his experiences with the writing and publishing the book in an Interview taken by the team Pragyan. Three of the state’s most renowned career counselor and motivators Prashant Baroowa ( NE Career Guides), Prashanta Borah( Career Quips) and Rajiv Deka (Dekaz Clinic) has  started to write for Pragyan. Though Prashant has written for previous issue either the other duo have joined fresh and we hope all of them are here to stay.

Among other attractions, we hope   readers     would love to read Anjal Bora’s  Write up on Bezbarua’s Prahoshons. Avra Paul’s Bengali Short Story ‘Bonku Babur Golpo’ .
