Hi. My name is Des Howell. 

I am a self-represented Australian artist living with my wife Mary in Toowoomba, Queensland. Most of my commissioned work currently consists of  fine art portraits drawn and painted from photographs supplied by  clients. I work in a variety of media and can produce caricatures, landscapes and other visual artworks to meet your needs.

Most of my working life has been spent in various schools and colleges, where I worked as a teacher, instructor and librarian. I have had a rich and fulfilling career in the world of education.

During my career, I have written and illustrated lots of teaching materials, of course, and even produced some instructional books and websites. I also still enjoy working part-time as a teacher in Primary and High Schools. I feel the time has come, however, for me to build a new lifestyle that will make more use of my artistic and writing talents.
