Welcome to our web site. We are the
"Portneuf Gap" band and make our home in Southeast Idaho. A chance
meeting, and our shared passion for playing, singing and
entertaining brought us together. Our music is played from the heart
and we hope that by sharing it with you, you too will discover the charm
and beauty of this original American music known as "Bluegrass".

Randy Hackworth hales from Eastern Kentucky where his
bluegrass roots run deep. Randy's
sweet Kentucky drawl and skilled guitar picking make him the perfect
choice to sing lead.
Jim (Jake) Jacobson adds still another dimension of sound as lead vocalist. Jake is a
fine banjo picker and has studied with Tony Trishka.
Max Gregory holds the band together with a solid
bass line. Max played electric bass and guitar for many years and just
recently converted to stand up bass.
Kevin Smith first taught himself to play guitar and
enjoyed playing in country bands in earlier days. Kevin returned to his
first love, bluegrass, and completes the band playing fiddle, guitar
and vocals. |
