1 hour at a Time

P.O.W.E.R. Organization has attracted professional male role models and associations to contribute their time and talent with boys throughout Metro Detroit.  Win-Win situations permit busy fathers, business owners, and college students to invest in the lives of boys to encourage them to reach beyond their current situations to pursue their destinies.

This year's conferences will be no different.  We look forward to impacting even more lives at our October 24, 2009 conference.

Mentoring for Math Success

The Nov. 8th male presenters are serious in their fields of work and serious about helping kids!  There will be more than 30 male role models, 20 male college students, and 20+ high school "male" students on hand to help the boys celebrate math and the rewarding results of a solid math foundation.  Do the math... 30+20+20=70 males helping 200+ boys (ages 8-14) all in the Metropolitan Detroit area.

Can you imagine the energy in the room?

Let us know how you think the presence of positive, influential men will encourage the short-term academic progress  and long-term career planning process for the young male participants.

Boys from the 2006 and 2007 conferences are excited about the growth of the 2008 Math Mini Career Conference, the presenters, and the cool workshops.  Parents and students from several 2008 POWER Org programs have shared their anticipation of this annual event.  Spaces are filling quickly to hear from local and national professionals who are sharing their talents to empower youth to succeed with math.
