THE LAKE
Kinbasket Lake is only 42 kilometres from Donald, British Columbia, Canada, and is a little-known reservoir created by the Mica Dam north of Revelstoke, BC. This breathtaking lake is uninhabited by anything but wildlife and is a goldmine of animal habitat, fishing opportunities, and a photographer's dreamscape.
The lake itself is over 160 kilometres long and more than 900 feet deep with countless arms and reaches branching off for excellent exploration opportunities. Numerous islands dot the surface with the main prominence being "Bear Island", well named for its grizzly and black bear populations.
Your pontoon tour will begin at "The Harbour", 42 km from Donald, BC (20 minutes from Golden, BC) and will take you near the Columbia Reach, Bush Arm, and Gold River Arm, after which you will cruise into the narrows. Soon you will see the Sullivan Arm, Windy Arm, Kinbasket Arm, and Cummins Creek followed by the Mica Dam, Wood Arm, and the Canoe Reach.
THE BOAT
When you begin your tour you will be seated on our newest pontoon boat, a 25 foot Parti Kraft with a 90 horse Mercury outboard motor. The boat is rated for 15 people, but we'll keep it on a smaller scale for your safety and comfort.
The canopy covers all seating areas and will be left up for shade on sunny days and shelter on rainy days. Zip-on mylar windows are also available to create a fully enclosed cabin in case the weather turns nasty and cold so you will be kept in utmost comfort.
The rear of the boat contains a change room and bathroom with privacy curtains. When this is folded down it becomes a sundeck outside of the canopy for catching a little bit of that hot mountain sunshine.
The fold down ladder is an added feature for those hardy souls that would like to try swimming in the chilly water.

HOW TO FIND US:
Use the convenient search box on the right to find Golden, British Columbia and from there drag your mouse along the Trans Canada Highway north to find the Donald Road. This turns into the Bush River Forest Service Road which you follow for 42 kilometres until you reach the harbour (you'll know it when you see the water). Turn left into the compound and follow the signs and we'll greet you when you arrive.
