Bob Smart Theatre Festival

This year Ponderosa will be participating in the Bob Smart Theatre Festival, the official replacement of the former Lenaea Festival at CSUS.

Sadly, the Bob Smart Theatre Festival has been cancelled for 2011
They are trying to get it up and running next year though! :-(

The BSTF will follow the same format as the Lenaea Festival of years past. PHS Drama has a nice tradition of doing well at the Lenaea Festival, and we hope to bring the spirit of Lenaea back!

The following pieces will be submitted by PHS to the BSTF:

4 Monologues

2 Duo Scenes

2 Solo Musical Theatre Performances

1 One-Act

All of these pieces will be competing at the BSTF at American River College on January 15th through the 16th. A small fee will be paid by each student who wants to attend to cover busing costs and registration fees.

Intermediate and Advanced Drama students will be preparing possible pieces to be submitted to the BSTF as their final project for the semester. From all of the projects submitted, the 4 monologues and 2 duo scenes will be chosen.

The solo musical theatre pieces will be by invitation only from Ms. Schmelzer.

The one-act will be chosen from the student directed one-acts intermediate drama and advanced drama will be presenting November 17th and 18th.

It's going to be fun! We've VERY excited to have this valuable festival back in the area!
