Ms. Schmelzer has been selected by UC Davis and the Mondavi Center to take part in The Globe Education Academy For Teachers in the spring, summer, and fall of 2011! What does this mean? Ms. Schmelzer will be taking part in workshops starting in the spring of 2011 put on by the staff of UC Davis and teachers from Shakespeare's Globe in how to teach Shakespeare in the classroom. Students from Ms. Schmelzer's drama classes will be asked to join in some of the workshops. Over the summer in July of 2011, Ms. Schmelzer will travel to London for an in-depth study program at Shakespeare's Old Globe Theatre for two weeks. Finally, in the fall of 2011, students from Ms. Schmelzer's drama classes will put on a showcase at the Mondavi Center encompassing everything that has been learned through the Globe Academy.
