A radio drama program with incredible production value put out by American Public Media. (Some strong language)
 
A personal website devoted to all the musicals she's seen professionally. You'll find a synopsis of each show, lyrics, reviews, and more!
 
A podcast of true stories told in front of live audiences with no script or prompts. (Some strong language)
 
A free program that allows you to type scripts with automatic formatting for theatre, film, radio, etc. You must register with them for free to download.   
 
A free sound editing program that's easy to use and useful when creating SFX, editing music, etc.
 
Looking for sheet music? Try this website where you can purchase sheet music online and download it right to your computer to print. They carry many Broadway titles.

Ashland Oregon Shakespeare Festival 2011 Trip

 

What is the Oregon Shakespeare Festival?

Founded in 1935, the Tony Award-winning Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) is among the oldest and largest professional non-profit theatres in the nation. Each year OSF presents an eight-and-a-half-month season of eleven plays in three theatres plus numerous ancillary activities, and undertakes an extensive theatre education program. Operating on a budget exceeding $26 million, OSF presents more than 780 performances annually with attendance of approximately 400,000.

What else will we do in Ashland?

                Workshops

                Two hours of on-your-feet exercises led by one or two company members designed to explore themes, characters and language of the plays your students will see on their visit to OSF.

                Prologues

                A half-hour introduction to a play presented by a company member. Prologues introduce characters, themes, language and other background information preparing students to get the most out of the play going experience.

Discussions

                An hour discussion with one of the members of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival Company on the plays we have already seen. A discussion into the theme, characters, and design on the plays.

Saturday September 10th  :     9:30 to 11:30: Workshop

Monday September 12th :       Leave Ashland, OR at 9:00 AM approx.       

                                                                          Arrive in Shingle Spring, CA 3:00 PM approx.

 

How many people can go?

 

You must be going into intermediate or advanced drama next year to sign up. No exceptions! The first 40 students to sign up for the Ashland Oregon Shakespeare Festival Trip are the guaranteed a spot on the trip. You can sign-up by filling out the attached signature sheet and bringing in a $100 deposit check. Reservations for your spot on the trip come on a first come/first served basis, no matter how many years you have taken drama!

 

Breakdown of costs

 

          Hotel: $119 for a three night stay at Southern Oregon University

          Breakfast for all three morning in Ashland provided by SOU: $26

          Tickets for all four plays: $120

          Bussing divided by 45 people: $55

          Grand total: $320

(You will be on your own for food, souvenirs, etc. while we are in Ashland)

 

Installment Calendar

 

A $100 deposit and the signature form attached to this sheet is due on May 13. The deposit will become non-refundable and will be cashed on May 23rd. Please see the signature sheet for more information on refunds and your deposit.

 

A final installment of approximately $220 (final numbers will come out in August but will not exceed $240) is due on August 22nd.
