The Manawatu Ultimate Association (MUA) was formally affiliated to the NZFDA in 2002 although ultimate has been played in Palmerston North for over 10 years. There are currently three recognised clubs in Palmerston North: the Massey University Club of Ultimate Sport (MUCOUS), MUD and the International Pacific College (IPC). There is also a rapidly growing group of ultimate players from outside of these clubs.
