JOB TITLE: Contract Project Manager (Infrastructure) Duration: estimated at 12 months Location: Portland, OR
Con-way, a recognized leader in the transportation industry, seeks an accomplished Infrastructure Project Manager who has years experience Managing complex Client/Server Infrastructure projects. One of this Infrastructure Project Managers main objectives is to ensure the successful implementation of technology solutions in support of Con-way business objectives.
In Addition, the Infrastructure Project Manager serves as the Managed Services/Vendor primary point of contact between IT, business operations, internal business partners, and external clients.
This Project manager will be accountable for the project scope, schedule, budget, quality, communication, risk management, and issue management.
Qualifications:
- 7 years of cross functional business experience including one or more of the following: technical project management, warehousing and/or transportation management, IT solutions development, customer relationships. Experience with vendor management desirable.
- 3 years of direct project management experience on medium to large IT projects (6 or more people for 9 or more months) working within a defined p roject management methodology and standard practices.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills in customer settings and with internal senior management. Solid active listening, facilitation and presentation skills.
- Working knowledge of basic business/accounting principles and transportation management.
- Broad range of network and desktop knowledge, including experience with MS Office Suite.
- Solid knowledge of IT software development life cycle methodologies and processes.
- Strong project management skills.
- Negotiation and budget management skills.
- Demonstrated analytical capabilities.
- Experience managing customer expectations.
- Ability to lead and motivate professionals to produce high quality results on time and within budget.
- Ability to learn and understand functionality of multiple transportation and/or logistics related systems.
- Ability to establish solid business relationships and work effectively with senior business and client or stakeholder contacts.
- Ability to work and participate effectively in a dynamic self directed environment.
- Ability to lead and mentor teammates to increase overall team capabilities.
- Ability to communicate business needs to technical people and to communicate and simplify complex technical information for non-technical people.

I have a client that is going to need at least two PM's.
1. Experience with SAP, integration (ICC), and Enterprise Business
Intelligence (EBI) systems to move client from the current 3 vendors to a
single vendor. Someone with a strategic partner background would be
very helpful - especially one who has gone through one or more vendor
selection processes.
2. Experience with Release Management and Engagement organization.
Experience in strong consulting skills as part of the Solution Delivery
team to understand the business roadmap, and work with SD to ensure
projects are properly defined and TSS work is clear through the Think
and Study phases.
