Meet your Salem Branch Officers
The Salem Branch of the Willamette Valley Chapter of the Project Management Institute elected the following officers for the 2011 year. Sheryl Morrison President Sheryl Morrison currently works as the manager of the Project Management Office (PMO) for the Oregon Judicial Department. The PMO coordinates and provides oversight of the many information technology projects for the Department. Sheryl has a Bachelors Degree in English from Seattle Pacific University and started out as a high school English teacher. She left the teaching career, moved to private industry, and spent many years in the corporate world in roles as Chief Financial Officer, Human Resource Officer, Information Services Manager including management of network infrastructure, desktop, and help desk environments, and business and information technology consultant. She began formal project management in the early 1990's and worked as a Deputy Manager of Strategic Systems Initiatives overseeing multiple projects prior to joining the Judicial Department. Sheryl completed her MBA program through the University of Phoenix in October, 2006 and obtained her PMP certification in 2008. She also completed the Prosci Change Management certification. She is a member of PMI and has participated in the PMI Salem branch for several years prior to joining the Salem Branch board as Vice-President of Programs in 2009. Sheryl lives in Salem with her husband and they enjoy biking, hiking, skiing, and vacationing in Mexico each year with their three grown children. Eric Andersen VP of Professional Development Eric currently works as the IT Manager at the Oregon Dept of State Lands. At
State Lands Eric works as the project manager for IT Projects including the
agencies main business system the Land Administration System. In 1988, Eric completed a BA in Industrial Technology from California State University in Chico. After college Eric worked as a manufacturing engineer on the C17 program at General Dynamics in San Diego California and later as a manufacturing project planner in the 777 program at the Boeing Company in Everett Washington. While working on the 777 program Eric authored a QA tracking system called the Concern Log. It was here the Eric decided that IT systems development work was what he really enjoyed. In 1998 Eric accepted a position at the Dept of Forestry and began working on a new client server version of the Departments FIRES System. In 1998, Eric did IT Consulting work at UNISYS in Washington County and in 1999 the Greenbriar Rail-car Leasing Company in Lake Oswego. In 2000 Eric returned to state service and accepted the IT Manager position at the Dept of State Lands. Eric is a PMI member. In 2008 Eric completed the OSPM program and this year obtained a PMP certification. Eric lives in Salem and enjoys spending time with his son Wesley and daughter Alicia. Eric enjoys boating, working out at the gym, restoring classic muscle cars, and camping and hiking. Rashmi Joshi
VP of Communications Rashmi has over 15 years of software development leadership and
experience that has kept pace with the evolution of technologies, architecture,
methods and tools supporting the complete software life-cycle in both public and private sector. At Oregon Health Authority, State of Oregon Rashmi works as Application Development Manager for a Modernization program. She is involved in
planning, designing and implementing successful IT solutions. Rashmi is certified Project Management Professional and has Engineering degree in Electronics. Rashmi lives in Salem, Oregon and enjoys spending time with her family and friends and likes to travel. Theresa Knox VP of Marketing Nick Larson VP of Finance Nick Larson serves the State of Oregon in the Department of Administrative Services (DAS) Facilities Division as a Senior Construction Project Manager (CPM). He joined the State in 2004 and, as a CPM works on construction projects for DAS-owned buildings on Capitol Mall as well as projects and programs for other Agencies like Oregon Judicial Department and the Department of Community Colleges and Workforce Development. Nick graduated from Oregon State University in 1996 with a B.S. in Construction EngineeringManagement and, after working for a family-owned subcontractor business, worked for large Oregon general contractors Pence/Kelly Construction, Andersen Construction and Lease Crutcher Lewis.He worked on a variety of construction projects and learned a lot from several good people about construction methodology, team leadership qualities, and industry philosophies. As a public steward, his goal is to maximize the value of the money spent on the buildings through his projects to get the best long term solution and to “do it right”. His personal goal is to be a positive help in some way to those he comes in contact with and be as encouraging, supportive and friendly as possible. Nick has a wife and daughter and lives in South Salem. He enjoys spending time with family, reading,golfing, walking, and planning/working on home improvement projects (mostly planning). Nick earned his PMP Certificate in October 2010. Lisa Ansell VP of Membership Lisa
Ansell currently works as the Strategic Initiatives Manager for Business
Oregon, the Oregon Business Development Department (formerly Oregon Economic
& Community Development Department). Lisa has
more than 27 years of experience in Oregon State government, nine of those
years managing major projects. The types
of projects include transportation improvements, environmental impact studies
and information technology. Lisa has
an Oregon State Project Manager certification, and is currently studying for
Project Management Institute’s (PMI) national certification of Project Manager
Professional. She has a bachelor’s
degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix. She has
held the office of Vice President of Education for the local Salem Branch of
PMI a few years ago.Lisa lives in Albany with
her husband, Collin. They have five grown children, all married, and eight
grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with family. She also has several hobbies, i.e., scrapbooking,
quilting, beading, cooking, camping and when the weather cooperates, rafting. Ericka Haas VP of Programs Ericka Haas has a BS
in Computer Science from Western Oregon and has taken graduate classes at the
Oregon Graduate Institute towards a Masters of Management in Information
Technology. During a Project Management class, she finally discovered what she
really wanted to do when she grows up. That realization led to taking her
current position with the Secretary of State's office in 2007 as a Business
Analyst for the Elections Division, which combines project management with
systems analysis and design. Prior to that she worked as a computer programmer
with a small software company for 10 years. Ericka lives in Salem with her
husband, daughter, and several furry, four-legged family
