Newsletter PMI Willamette Valley has decided to resume publishing a Chapter Newsletter for the Salem, Eugene, and Corvallis Branches (click the link to read the Fall 2009 edition). We will be publishing one every quarter, instead of monthly like we used to do in the past.

Please provide us with feedback on the newsletter. Does the frequency sound good? How do you prefer it to be delivered/posted? What content or articles would you like to see?

If you are interested, submit an article and we will submit it for publication.

You are welcome to email Jon Lazarus at Jon.m.Lazarus@gmail.com, or the link in the Officers' table above, with feedback on this issue.

Topic: Prioritizing the Value of Your PMO

Presented ByRyan Cummings
email: ryancheetahpower@gmail.com

Topic Information

PMs face daily challenges that get resolved through skills of persuasion developed over time and experience. Illustrating the cost of failed projects or the benefit of successful projects is easy, compared to painting a clear picture of “value.” Value is measured from within the individual or organization needing the item or service, and that includes the service of the PMO. This overview and fun, interactive exercise will enlighten PMs about today’s prevailing views and how to carefully handle stakeholder’s perceived value of PMOs – the PM’s work within a collective office.

About the Presenter

He uses his project management skills to run many of the marketing events Cheetah hosts around the world and to manage both internal and external corporate retreats.    He is also a mentor for Cheetah students to help them learn how to best leverage their PMPs for enhanced career success.     Prior to joining Cheetah, Ryan worked for Fortune 500 companies including Astra Zeneca Pharmaceuticals, Henry Schein Medical and Cardinal Health. All of these positions have equipped him with knowledge and skills in the areas of project management, from initiating project charters to closing projects with favorable deliverables.
