Story of the Brother Who Lied about his Power

Waawache - When they are talking.  There were two brothers.
His older brother was no good for nothing but he thought he had power from the animals.  The older brother kept lots of animal hides at his place.

The younger brother had a lot of power. The younger brother
knew lots of things but he didn't show off.
The younger brother told  his wife, "I don't feel good
when  I'm going away with my older brother.  I'm worried about you.
Just look after these kids when I'm gone."

After that the two brothers slept two nights on the trail.
The younger brother felt really bad. He told his brother,
"I feel pretty rough.  I don't know what's happening at home.
The older brother said, "I didn't feel anything."  He told his older brother,
"You can stay here.  I know there's a problem at home.  I'm going home." The younger brother gathered all his stuff and went home,
and the older brother just followed him really fast.

When they got close to their camp, the younger brother's wife
was hollering way high up. "Where have you been,"
she said to him, hollering. He threw all his stuff away and ran back to
his camp when he heard her hollering.  His older brother was right behind. When he ran back to his wife and kids, his older brother
just followed him really close.
The younger brother's wife and his kids were way up in a spruce tree.
That big giant animal kept coming back to them.
He wrecked everything in the older brother's camp.

"That giant animal went back to the bush and then he came back
to where we were," his wife told him.  "We had nothing to drink for many days," she said.   She told him, "The giant animal came back in the evening."
He's coming back again."   The younger brother met that giant animal.
 The animal said to him,
"Your brother lied about me and I wanted to kill him."

The older brother said to the giant animal,
"Please, I want to give you one of my younger kids."
The older brother was just shaking he was so scared.
He just held onto his younger brother.  The younger brother told him,
"You're just like an old lady. Follow those kids up in the tree."
The youngest child of the older brother was crying,
"Uncle, please don't let the giant animal eat me."
The younger brother was pretty mad and he told his older brother,
"Old lady.  Go up in the tree."
He was mad when he heard his nephew crying.
The little boy was climbing up the tree but he just kept falling down.

The younger brother talked to the giant animal really well.
He knew he would have to kill him to save his nephew.
He kept two powerful arrows for bigger animals. He used one on him,
but the animal kept on going after the kid in the tree.
Then he killed the giant animal with the second arrow.
He told his older brother, "Don't lie about the animals.
I had to kill my power for you."
He showed his brother the blood on his hand.
