Hunt for Santa

OFFICIAL RULES

 

  1. All proceeds from “Hunt for Santa 2008” (a scavenger hunt fundraiser) will benefit PLAY Conservatory.
  2. The fun happens on Saturday, December 27, starting at 11:30 am, as you and your team traverse the City of Rio Rancho in search of items and locations.  The team whose collected booty adds up to the most points wins! 
  3. Every team member that enters will win a prize.
  4. One team per car, one car per team:  Your entire team must be able to ride safely in one motor vehicle.  The ideal team is 4-5 people.  Even if the team splits up to gather items, only one motor vehicle may be used throughout the competition.   Driver must be licensed and 18 yrs. or older.
  5. Registration fees: open to all ages, $25 per adult, $5 for children 12 and under.  You may pay (cash or check) on the morning of the event.  Check-In begins at 10:30 am.  You will be notified of the exact location of Check-In via email.
  6. Reservations required:  Sign up for the competition by emailing the names and ages of all the people on your team.  Reservation deadline is 5:00 PM on Dec. 26, 2008.  After the deadline, any person whose name is not on the reservation list may still participate, for an additional fee of $5.
  7. From 11:30 am until 3:00 pm, your team will decipher clues and scavenge for booty.  The booty list will be issued at check in.
  8. Booty will include both items as well as photos of team members at specific locales.  Each team will use their own method for collecting and organizing items as well as technology to take and print photos.  Points are allocated to each item or photo according to difficulty.  The team with the most points wins the grand prize.
  9. All items collected and photos taken will be done so within Rio Rancho city limits.
  10. The hunt ends promptly at 3:00 pm, when all teams must report to the final destination.  Pizza and other refreshments will be served, and points will be tallied.  The winners will be announced by 4:00pm.
