WHERE: St. Pius X High School (Fine Arts Building)

 

WHEN:  May 5, 2012.  Pick either the morning or afternoon, and attend the times according to the project you are auditioning for:

 

Sat May 5th AM 

• 9:00 AM prepared songs (for The Little Mermaid a prepared song is optional; for Go Go Beach it is required)
• 10:00 AM group singing, group dancing (for The Little Mermaid)
• 11:00 AM cold readings and improvisation (for Titanic)

Sat May 5th PM

• 1:00 PM prepared songs (for The Little Mermaid a prepared song is optional; for Go Go Beach it is required)
• 2:00 PM group singing, group dancing (for The Little Mermaid)
• 3:00 PM cold readings and improvisation (for Titanic)

CALL BACKS:

 

All students who complete this first audition successfully must attend the call back auditions on Sunday, May 6.  Call times for this casting session are 1:00-3:00 PM Mermaid; 3:30-5:30 PM Titanic; 6:00-8:00 Go Go Beach.

 

WHAT TO PREPARE:

• A solo song:  For The Little Mermaid, it’s optional; for Go Go Beach it’s required.  Prepare a 2-minute Broadway-style song.  We will provide both a CD player and a piano accompanist.  You may bring your own accompanist if you prefer.  You must sing with accompaniment.
• Everyone, please bring a completed audition form (scroll down, download, and print).

WHAT TO EXPECT:

• Students auditioning for The Little Mermaid will: 
• Group sing: student will learn a piece of song from the show or another song and then sing it back both in group and solo. 
• Group dance: student will learn a dance sequence and perform it in groups.  Please dress to move.
• Students auditioning for Titanic will do cold readings from the script, and some improvisation & ensemble work.
• Students auditioning for Go Go Beach will sing a solo song.  (Dance auditions and readings will occur at call backs.)

• All the invited students will attend call back auditions, at which we determine the casting of roles.
