I'm trying to put lots of links/resources on this site, so please take advantage of exploring the side bar and front page. I always welcome recommendations, so keep 'em coming!
Also, thank you for what I felt to be a successful year. We are still in the growing pains as I familiarize myself more and more with the community and school, but I am so excited what the future holds. I want to thank the following seniors for their time and effort they put into the program over these four years. This program is built off the dedication of students like these:
Tabitha Bell - Flags Ashley Bolton - Flags Daulton Carpenter - Percussion Melissa Gochenour - Trumpet Jaycie Wetenkemp - Clarinet/Tenor Sax Ryan Wheatley - Percussion/Electric Bass
Again, thank you.

We're approaching our jazz season and we're in the thick of our Winter Arts competitions. Be sure you're watching the calendar and staying on top of obligations. Continue checking for updates. A lot of information can be found in our PHS Band News update, so this will be quite brief. |

I sure hope everyone had a great break. Although cooking, cleaning, and other preparations for family can be quite exhausting, I certainly wish the best for you all.
Here's some upcoming reminders:
Drumline auditions are tonight (11/29) @ 7pm - 9pm. This also happens to be our first rehearsal for Winter Guard.
Our first basketball game is this Saturday and the start time has been moved up so that we are reporting at 4pm (game should start at 4:45pm). For those of you who are Husker (or Sooners) fans, I was told we should be out of there by 6:30pm.
If you signed up to play the Eagles Club Christmas, I will be getting music out for that in the next few days. It will be quite easy, but I still ask that you spend time as groups working up the music so that we can be best represented.
Please be practicing your EBO music (those of you who have it) and make sure you mark our future basketball obligations on your schedule. Thanks!

For those of you who have seen the schedule, we have quite a busy season for basketball pep band. The hope is that we're big enough next year to at least split the band into two smaller bands, but I feel we're just not quite there yet. Below are the most upcoming pep bands. Times can be found on the schedule. Jazz band is still rehearsing on Tuesday and Friday mornings at 7am. However, we will NOT be having jazz band Friday, November 19th because I will be out of town for a conference. Be sure you're staying on top of honor band auditions. I had the incorrect date for Wayne State, which means you had an extra week to practice (they are now due Monday, November 22nd. |

Reminder that we have recordings for honor bands due quite soon. Here are the following due dates: Hastings Honor Band - 11/12 UNO Honor Band - 11/16 Wayne State Honor Band - 11/29 Information about each band can be found here. Jazz band rehearsals have started and we have a good group. We certainly have a young group, but with discipline, we have the potential to be quite a nice sounding group. Rehearsals will be Tuesday and Friday mornings at 7am - 7:50. Sectionals will be during tutorials. Monday will be Brass, Tuesdays will be Saxes, and Wednesdays will be Rhythm Section. Click here for more information about the jazz band. An important note is that, after meeting with Mrs. Orvis, the jazz band will not be performing on the Christmas Concert. Instead, we will have a separate concert for jazz band/show choir in January. Dates will be given out ASAP. |
