Cindy Nash (Head Swim/Dive Coach)
Cindy began competitively swimming at the age of 6 for the Knights of Columbus in Indianapolis, IN. She then swam for Broad Ripple Pool for 7 years. Indianapolis has a sports competition with the city of Scarborough, Ontario. She was a competitor in those games twice, swimming the 100 Fly and the 400 IM, as well as the relays one year and the 50 and 100 free the following year.
Upon moving to Lincoln, NE, Cindy was a competitor for Irvingdale swim team for one year and Eden swim team for 4 years. While in high school, she swam for Lincoln Southeast all four years. During this time, Cindy swam mainly the 50 and 100 free. Her senior year, she made the All-City Swim Team. She was also part of a pool record in the 200 Free Relay at LNE pool.
During college, Cindy swam for all four years. She was part of a record setting 400 free relay. During her years there, she placed in the top 12 in her conference in the 50 and 100 free, 100 back and 100 breast.
Cindy was also an assistant coach for Central High School Girl's Swimming. This was a new program at the time as well, due to the fact that Central did not have a pool. The majority of the girls on the team had never been a swim team before joining the high school team. This experience will serve her well developing the Pius Team. Maggie Bach (Assistant Swim Coach)
Maggie began competitively swimming for the Lincoln Parks and Recreation program at Ballard pool when she was 7, then began club swimming at the age of 9 for Great Plains Aquatic Club. She qualified for and competed in the All Stars and Zones meets for multiple years. High School: Maggie achieved automatic state qualifying times for the Nebraska State Swimming Championships for four consecutive years. Her senior year she was a member of the state championship gold medal 200 medley relay team, and was awarded the silver medal in the 100 fly, placing 4th in the 200 IM and was on the 5th place 200 free relay team. When Maggie left East High she was a four-year letter winner, a team captain, and the school record holder in the 100 fly and 200 medley relay team. She has received three All-American swimming awards, 200 medley relay 2005-2006, 200 free relay 2003-2004 and 2004-2005. She was the Heartland Athletic Conference record holder in the 100 fly and 200 IM, she was also a member of the HAC record setting 200 Medley relay and 200 free relay teams. Maggie received a full scholarship to swim for the University of Wyoming. At Wyoming: Freshman- At the 2007 MWC Championships, she won the 200 butterfly consolation final and placed 12th in the 100 butterfly. She earned her first letter award. Sophomore- Maggie earned MWC All Conference and her second letter award. She moved into the UW record books in four events. She also was a part of the 200 and 400 medley relay, as well as the 200 free relay at the 2008 MWC Championships. Patrick Heyen (Assistant Dive Coach) |
