Welcome to the Pittsburgh Section of the American Nuclear Society! Founded in 1956, the Pittsburgh Section and its Beaver Valley Branch serve the members of the American Nuclear Society in Western Pennsylvania.

The Pittsburgh Section of the American Nuclear Society, Inc. is a non-profit, educational organization registered in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The Pittsburgh Section is directly affiliated with the American Nuclear Society as a Local Section of this national organization. Our members are scientists, engineers, and professionals in the fields of nuclear energy, medicine, and technology. To fulfill our educational mission, we offer our members and our community a variety of benefits and services including:
  • Internationally-recognized Topical Meetings (Such as PHYSOR 2010)
  • Activities that include Program Meetings, tours, and guest speakers 
  • Scholarships for college students
