This dictionary publishes words that have been forbidden by earlier Pinoy dictionaries. They excluded words or entries they thought to be inappropriate if not dangerous for the public to learn. Their omission and exclusion of these words was a classic form of old-time censorship.  Now, here comes The Maker of Pinoy Dictionaries Today that dares to put and share some words that could not be printed before but were generally accepted and openly included by almost all foreign dictionaries ever since.

The Edgie Polistico's Cebuano-English dictionary contains entries that pertain to vulgarity, indecency, profanity, and other words thought to be not suitable by the conservatives. The intention of including them in this modern and revolutionized dictionary is purely for information and educational purposes and without any malice.

Publishing vulgar, indecent, profane or any other word thought to be inappropriate to print may appear distasteful to the old-time moralist. If you are the type of person who would easily got offended by the aforementioned types of word, we advised you to proceed and use this dictionary at your discretion...for there may some words you ought not to learn.

Dictionary user discretion is advised.

It is advisable that you first create a blank folder and download the EdgieDictionary.zip file into that folder.
Then unzip EdgieDictionary.zip by selecting the option "Extract here" or read the Instruction.doc file

Edgie Polistico - Oct 26, 2010 12:02 AM

The file with filename "EdgieDictionary" (the one with no file extension) is actually a ZIP file. But before you can use it to install the digital dictionary, you must first change the filename from "EdgieDictionary" into "EdgieDictionary.exe" to unZIP it. Yes, after downloading that file, simply add the file extension ".exe" (and don't forget to include the dot)

Edgie Polistico - Oct 26, 2010 12:12 AM

If zipped files will not progress to unzip, use the other zipped files, such as the one with "7z" extension (i.e., EdgieDictionary.7z)

Edgie Polistico - Sep 11, 2011 10:10 PM

If you intend to download 7-zip and use it as your file compression facility. You must, after downloading, change the filename "install 7-zip" into "Install 7-zip.exe" to activate installation of 7-zip. (Simply add the file extension ".exe", with the dot, of course)
