Church College

Our Vision for a Church College.

In 2010 we have started to give serious consideration to the possibility of getting a Bible college to support Life & Light training. However, because the mission is still small a dedicated college would stand empty, much of the time, until the mission grows. Therefore our vision is for a college that is also used as a regular fellowship and as a spiritual retreat on a regular basis.
The main physical difference of our college will be that we do not need much accommodation or dormitories, for Gypsies can usually bring their homes with them, therefore we only need land adjacent to the college/church which we can set up like a caravan site.
The building needs to be a church and a college, so will require a hall for corporate worship and a small lecture room/library with a Sunday School, a crèche, a kitchen and a common dining area. A couple of offices and perhaps just a couple of rooms for visiting ministers would be desirable.
Remember also that enough land is needed for both a regular carpark (30 cars/vans assuming church attendance of 60). The biggest needs would be for a field to turn into a caravan site. Our desired region would be North-West England since Life & Light has several churches in the area and it is central UK. These drawings are simple outlines of what we hope to build or buy, not exact plans. It would be better by far to base the central design around an auditorium, circular in shape.
Our planned usage of these facilities combine the needs of the mission, Life & Light,  and its local church, with the support work of the Pilgrim Bible Society for the mission nationwide. It will be used:
  • 1. As a regular local church in evenings and on Sundays, regular fellowship meals and outreaches.
  • 2. As a Bible college for academic training of potential ministers (4 weeks per year).
  • 3. For further training of ministers (4 weeks per year).
  • 4. As a spiritual retreat for any member of Life & Light (4weeks per year).
  • 5. For missions to reach the lost (2 weeks per year).
  • 6. For ministers' meetings (occasional).
All these are approximations, for they will increase over time.
