Why Join the PAO?
The PAO is a non-profit association of volunteer pickleball enthusiasts whose main goal is to promote the sport of pickleball across the province of Ontario. This goal is best achieved through our legally incorporated organization.

Some players want to know, "What's in it for me?". the PAO is not intended to serve or benefit ONE individual participating in this sport. The PAO will provide advice and support to ALL Ontario players and clubs. It will facilitate events which include players from all parts of Ontario.

As an incorporated entity the PAO has positioned itself to solicit support from sponsors and government agencies. This will enable the PAO to achieve it's vision of promoting the sport for the benefit of ALL in the years to come.

We do this of course because we love the sport and want others to enjoy it as much as we do.

Detailed goals:

1. To provide a positive environment that supports fun and exercise for all participants.
2. To maintain a status as a non-profit, financially stable, independent organization.
3. To promote and maintain programs which enhance the quality of pickleball in the community.
4. To develop on-going leadership.
5. To develop and provide members services to the players.
6. To increase knowledge and communicate information among members and players.
7. To sponsor and promote tournament play at the provincial level.
8. To develop standards for rules and regulations.
9. To provide training for referees.
10. To provide a platform for the development of coaches in the future.

Affiliated Organizations:

The PAO maintains a close affiliation with the Pickleball Canada Organization (PCO). We support any and all undertakings of the PCO and follow the same International Federation of Pickleball (IFP) rules of play that the PCO does. We encourage all PAO members to also join the PCO. For more information go to the PCO website at http://pickleballcanada.org/.

The PAO is also closely affiliated with the Ontario Senior Games Association (OSGA). Thanks to the OSGA pickleball was introduced as a regular event at the 2010 Ontario Senior Summer Games in Oshawa. The PAO and OSGA worked together to organize the first ever senior games pickleball tournament at that event. The OSGA website can be found at http://www.ontarioseniorgames.ca/. We encourage anyone over the age of 55 to see what the OSGA has to offer and sign up today for membership privileges.
