(Posted 03/08/12@5:35PM & 03/10/12 @11:45AM)
The TPSC trails are open we had a low last night of 28*
Effective immediately Section "B" of Langlade County is CLOSED.
Here is the article from today's (Thurs. March 8, 2012) Antigo Daily Journal:
"Snowmobiling across much of Langlade County came to an abrupt end this morning, only a week after a substantial dumping of the white stuff allowed the trails to open. Tammy Kubiaczyk, Langlade County recreation coordinator, said that due to rapidly deteriorating condition, Section B, which is the area south of Highway I and west of Highway S, have been closed. Section A may close with little notice due to current weather conditions, with the forecast calling for significantly warming temperatures"
Forecast is:
Sat. March 10: Sunny, high of 55, low of 35
SNOW IS SOFT AND MELTING QUICK

Sun. March 11: Partly Cloudy, high of 51, low of 39
Mon. March 12: Chance of Rain, high of 51, low of 39
Tues. March 13: Partly Cloudy, high of 61, low of 41
Unfortunately all good things must come to an end and I can hear the fat lady singing....

We have received complaints regarding the trail on Pickerel Creek Rd. (just north of Hwy T that goes to County Land) PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THE SPEED LIMIT FOR ALL RECREATIONAL VEHICLES (YEAR ROUND) IS 25 MPH. ALSO, IT SEEMS SLEDS HAVE BEEN RUNNING THIS ROAD "WHEREVER" AND NOT STAYING ON THE TRAIL. THE SNOWMOBILE TRAIL IS ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE ROAD. PLEASE FOLLOW THE 25MPH SPEED LIMIT OR BOTH THE ATV CLUB AND SNOWMOBILE CLUB WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE THIS ROAD AS A TRAIL.

(Posted 03/06/12 @ 2:40PM) The TPSC groomers have been continuously out since the storm. Last night we went for a short ride on the Mole Lake, Hemlock & Red Ball. All trails were excellent. Early this morning the Post Lake trail was groomed. We went for a early morning ride today and it was excellent til about noon when things got warm and soft snow. It is currently sunny and 42*, tonight's low of 38* is not going to help the trails.
The forecast for the remainder of the week is not looking that good either...
Wed. March 7: Light Rain, high of 47, low of 25
Thurs. March 8: Mostly Sunny, high of 40, low of 19
Fri. March 9: Mostly Sunny, high of 35, low of 25

The TPSC groomers have been out, almost for 24 hrs non-stop. Trails were pretty well beat on Saturday with the heavy traffic, warm temps and soft snow, just not cold enough after being groomed for the trails to set up. Hopefully with Saturday nights cold temps they had a chance to freeze down. Groomers will be out again today, tonight and Monday, etc., etc. Tonight is also supposed to be in the single digits so that will definately help.
Forecast is:
Today, Mostly Sunny, High of 26, Low of 4
Mon. March 5: Partly Sunny, High of 32, Low of 25
Tues. March 6: Partly Cloudy, High of 45, Low of 39
Wed. March 7: Rain & Snow, High of 45, Low of 25
Thurs. March 8: Mostly Sunny, High of 40, Low of 21
Keep Right & Have a Fun Ride!

The TPSC groomers have been out, more so at night so the trails can have a chance to set up. Last night the Hemlock was groomed as well as from Hills Still to Hummers.
We also did our section of the grade as well as the grade from Frog Alley to Hwy 8 for the LMT's.
The Mole Lake trail is being done at the time of this post. Tonight we will be doing our regular Saturday night rounds. As for the weather we didn't get the snow they were predicting, maybe up to 1/4". The trails should have a better chance of setting up tonight and Sunday night. Currently it is 25* with light snow.
Forecast is: today, light snow, high of 29, low of 10
Sunday March 4, few snow showers, high of 25, low of 10
Monday March 5, partly cloudy, high of 31, low of 25
Tuesday March 6, partly cloudy, high of 45, low of 35
Wednesday March 7, rain, high of 41, low of 21
Have a safe and fun ride!
