Sports Injury and Work Related Injury Rehabilitation

Repetitive movements in sport or work result in muscles imbalances which often cause strain on surrounding tissues (i.e. ligaments, tendon, fascia) and increase in joint compression (i.e. arthritis). These factors added in a long term, can produce symptoms such as pain, soreness, decrease of flexibility and stiffness.

Physiotherapy can treat almost all conditions which have one of these symptoms; pain, weakness, stiffness, loss of movement. If you have any of these problems, the treatment will focus on:
  • recover from acute or chronic muscular or joint injuries

  • return safely to sports activities or heavy work duties and restore exercise tolerance

  • promote pain relief

During the first visit, you will have a complete assessment of the injury or problem, so we can focus on the cause of your discomfort. Then, a program of treatment and prevention action is set. A precise diagnosis and evidence-based treatment are provided using a wide rang e of procedures as follows:
  • patient education: we make sure you understand the nature of your problem
  • home-based exercised for a better self-care and preventive measures
  • global muscle stretching to gain flexibility
  • sports injury first-aid care and functional sports taping/bandages in case of acute injuries
  • spinal manipulation, visceral or cranial therapy, myofascial release, and functional exercise to improve muscle/joint/nerve/fascia mobility
  • coordination and balance training
  • core stability and flexibility exercises
  • posture awareness
  • Global Postural Re-education (RPGĀ®)
