University of Michigan - Lego Spring Break Energy Camp

These three files give the brief details for the Lego Energy Spring Break Camp which will be held at University of Michigan from April 4th to 8th, 2011.

What is it?

The Lego Energy Workshop is a five-day program for middle school and high school students during the week of April 4 – 8, 2011. This is the Spring Break for Ann Arbor Public Schools, but other schools are invited to attend.

This workshop includes hands-on projects involving the use of Legos to create devices that will actually generate electricity.  These devices include solar cars, hydroelectric generators, wind turbines, microgrids, and more.

In addition to Lego projects, students will meet scientists, engineers, and other students, like themselves, with interests in science and engineering.  Students will take tours around the University of Michigan campus and visit laboratories.

The Lego Energy Workshop is hosted by the University of Michigan’s Empower Design – a student organization focused on co-designing, building, and testing locally co-designed electricity devices in Africa.
